TRUCKEE — One semi truck slammed into the rear of another on Interstate 80 near Truckee today, May 18. California Highway Patrol Truckee officers reported that the collision caused severe damage, ripping apart the front cab of the following vehicle. The driver sustained only minor injuries.
California Highway Patrol Truckee shared details of the crash in a post on social media. “If you were wondering whether following distance matters… yes. Yes, it does,” the agency stated. The agency urged drivers to “slow down. Leave room. Stay focused.”
The incident occurred around 11:11 AM on Interstate 80 near Floriston Way. No other vehicles or injuries were reported.
