Candidates Night

2 min read

Editor,

As I walked into the City Hall and saw Bryan Davey at the table with the other candidates, I was shocked as he had just recently retired from the County, and then happy to know he wanted to represent District 2 as a Supervisor. My first thought was there was no better person to do the job. Immediately my heart said to write a letter of support even though I do not live in District 2. I became a City of Loyalton Council member three years ago. For many years the City and County have been at odds with things, and because the City is in Sierra County, one of my goals as a Council Member was to improve that relationship. The way I did that was to become involved in a great number of committees, one of those was the transportation committee. This is where I first met Bryan. The biggest project he helped with was the speed zones through Loyalton as he had just been through it for Sierra City and Sierraville. From his efforts (he walked the entire main street with me and Caltrans to show why the speeds should not increase) we were able to get the best possible outcome. Whenever I had questions on where I could find information to research Governmental B.S., he would send me the source. With Bryan having lived in Sierra City the past 22years, and his active Volunteer service to the community in which he lives, he is well versed in the needs and wants of District 2. I believe his previous work with the County puts him ahead of the other candidates, as he works well with the other supervisors and knows how to navigate through all the B.S. Actions speak louder then words. Ask yourself what have the other candidates that are wanting to work for you done for your community.

Thank you
