OREGON HOUSE — The Dobbins-Oregon House Fire Department will conduct live fire training exercises on two upcoming evenings. Sessions take place at the department fire station field area located at 9150 Marysville Road in Oregon House. Training runs from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on May 20 and May 27.
“The exercise will allow our personnel and neighboring departments a chance to develop and enhance their skills in wildland suppression activities in a safe and controlled environment,” wrote the department. “This type of training is essential toward our efforts in providing this community with well-trained firefighters.” Appropriate permits have been obtained, and safety parameters have been set and will be observed.
Smoke and flames may appear visible at times. The department added that the controlled setting helps personnel build readiness for real incidents.
Members of the public may observe the training, though the department’s driveway will be congested with fire apparatus. Contact Assistant Fire Chief Greg Stensler at gstensler@dohfireca.gov for more information.
