DOWNIEVILLE — Caltrans crews have started emergency repair work along State Route 49 near the Downieville maintenance yard in Sierra County. Caltrans District 3 stated in a public post last week that repairs were necessary to correct slip-outs caused by winter storms.

On Thursday, May 21, Caltrans announced that a temporary traffic signal will be installed to assist with one-way traffic control. The signal is expected to remain in place for several weeks. Drivers can expect delays of up to 15 minutes.
