SIERRA CITY — Live music in Sierra City this summer is alive and kicking! Though “Music at the Mine” has gone into indefinite hibernation, Glen and Cindy Haubl, owners of the Sierra Pines Resort, have formally joined forces with Chris Stockdale to put on “Music in the Meadow” for the summer of 2026. The same quality of musicians and bands you’ve come to expect at the “Mine” will now grace our new stage in the Sierra Pines Meadow. Changes such as earlier start times, the availability of food and alcohol (beer & wine) for purchase, and the opportunity to enjoy exciting shows in a beautiful setting will surely be worth checking out. Musical styles will include country, folk-rock, pop, twang, classics, and all manner of joyous Americana.

Opening the series on Sunday, May 24th at 3:00 PM will be a double bill featuring the Celtic cowboy duo Dust in My Coffee and a newcomer, the folk-rock, Neil Young-inspired duo Manzanita. Expect a wide range of classic folk-rock and country tunes, along with some brilliantly conceived originals. Do keep in mind that you’ll want to bring lawn chairs or blankets to set up in our shaded, lush green meadow.

The season is composed of four concerts, one being our annual 4th of July celebration, which is free to the community. Detailed information can be readily obtained by going to the Sierra Pines Resort website, sierrapinesresort.com, and clicking the events link. You will find band info, biographies, and videos of all the participating bands. To keep bringing quality “live music” to Sierra City, it is imperative that y’all check out the shows and attend the ones that look to truly “float your boat”. Promotional ads will routinely be published in the Mountain Messenger, and flyers will be posted throughout Sierra and Plumas counties. Hope to see you in the MEADOW!
