DISTRICT 1 — Assemblywoman Heather Hadwick will host a virtual town hall focused on the cost and availability of insurance. The event will take place on June 16 at 5:30 PM.

“When I circulated a survey to constituents earlier this year, the number one issue people were concerned about was affordability, with insurance as a close second,” said Assemblywoman Hadwick. “These issues go hand in hand. California is a very expensive place to live, and people can’t afford the rising cost of insurance. For seniors and others living on fixed incomes, these increases can be especially crushing. This event will be an opportunity for some experts to share their insights they have on the industry.”

The town hall will feature three speakers who will provide a special update on insurance in California. Representatives from the California Department of Insurance, the Personal Insurance Federation of California, and the California FAIR Plan will each deliver a 20-minute presentation. Each speaker will then answer questions from attendees.

Assemblywoman Hadwick represents California Assembly District 1, a large rural area in Northern California that includes Sierra, Plumas, Lassen, Nevada, and Yuba Counties. The virtual Zoom format will allow constituents from throughout the district to participate without travel.

Constituents can RSVP for the town hall at tmmlink.com/5zC2RkN. Attendees will receive a Zoom link after registration. Participants will also gain an opportunity to submit questions several weeks in advance.
