GRASS VALLEY — Two people were hospitalized Thursday after an Audi struck a tree in a solo-vehicle crash on Magnolia Road in southern Nevada County. Grass Valley CHP placed the crash at Adamson Drive, while CAL FIRE’s Nevada-Yuba-Placer Unit placed it at Normandy Lane.
CAL FIRE NEU said CALSTAR transported one patient by air ambulance, while Sierra Nevada Ambulance took a second patient by ground ambulance. CHP classified the collision as a major-injury crash and closed the roadway during its investigation.
Firefighters from CAL FIRE NEU and the Higgins Fire Protection District quickly extinguished a small spot fire in adjacent vegetation. CHP later reported that the roadway had reopened, while fire crews expected to remain at the scene for approximately another hour.
