More traffic controls are expected on Highway 70 through the summer.
REDDING — Travelers on Highway 70 can expect more delays this summer in the section between Graeagle and Quincy, according to plans Caltrans announced Wednesday.
Caltrans Public Information Officer Kurt Villavivencio said in a press release that 24/7 traffic controls to enable road rehabilitation work through Cromberg are expected to begin July 13 and continue for the rest of the summer. Delays could extend up to 25 minutes, he said.
The work is part of Caltrans’s Cromberg Combined Rehabilitation Project, which began in the summer of 2024 and is expected to be completed by this winter. The cost of the project is estimated to be about $100 million.
