00:09 - Multiple reports of possible juveniles knocking on doors in Loyalton during the night. Deputies responded but were unable to locate anyone.

10:46 - Probation searches conducted in eastern Sierra County.

11:04 - Report of a bear conflict in Loyalton.

12:42 - Assistance provided to the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office along Highway 70 east of Highway 49.

14:15 - Ambulance requested on Antelope Valley Road.

14:52 - Report of a flare-up of the Elephant Fire near Chilcoot.

15:45 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

17:07 - Report of a confused and lost person at Salmon Creek Campground. The person was later reunited with a group.

17:14 - Welfare check requested in Loyalton.

17:27 - A dog was found near Sardine Lake. Its owner was located, and the dog was returned.

17:40 - Report of a solo-vehicle crash on northbound Highway 395 north of the agricultural inspection station near Chilcoot.

18:18 - Citizen assisted at Roberti Ranch.

21:04 - Report of a bear at the back door of a Loyalton residence. A deputy checked the area but was unable to locate the bear. Fish and Wildlife was notified.

10:07 - Report of a bear problem in Verdi.

14:36 - Burglary alarm on Stampede Dam Road. It was determined to have been activated accidentally.

15:43 - Citizen assisted in the Lewis Tract area near Sierra City.

15:50 - Report of the Pliocene Fire, a vegetation fire outside Forest City. Pike City Fire, Alleghany Fire, and Tahoe National Forest personnel responded. The spread was stopped, and the Forest Service took over the scene.

16:13 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

16:41 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

Thursday, July 30

00:40 - Reports of a possible person trying to break into residences at Clark Station were determined to involve a bear. Deputies contacted the residents and hazed the bear. Fish and Wildlife was notified.

07:27 - Report of a lost purse in Downieville.

10:09 - Welfare check requested in Loyalton. The person was found safe.

11:36 - Report of a bear problem in Verdi.

12:42 - Ambulance requested in Sierraville.

12:52 - Report of a bear killing chickens in Loyalton. Fish and Wildlife was notified.

14:48 - Report of an ongoing bear problem in Verdi. Fish and Wildlife was notified.

17:11 - The Sheriff’s Office was notified of a large wedding planned in Loyalton in case any incidents occurred.

19:51 - Report of a suspicious man possibly dumping trash along Smithneck Road. A deputy checked the area but was unable to locate the man or any dumped trash.

Friday, July 31

03:07 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

07:30 - Lift assistance requested in Loyalton.

09:47 - Report of an overdue person in the forest about 15 miles south of Loyalton. Contact was made with the person, who was safe.

10:59 - Report of fraud in Downieville. A report was taken.

12:07 - Report of a possible vehicle violation near the Loyalton fire station.

13:17 - Report of a crash with unknown injuries in the Truckee area. The California Highway Patrol was notified.

14:21 - Ongoing financial crime investigation in Sattley.

14:57 - Property check requested in the Haskell Creek area.

16:43 - Report of a possible mental health issue in Downieville. A deputy planned to contact Sierra County Social Services and Behavioral Health to assist.

17:13 - Report of a sheep found along a road in the Jackson Meadows area. The owner was told where the animal could be retrieved.

19:09 - Report of possible fraud against an elderly resident in Sattley.

19:15 - Ambulance requested at Logger Campground.

Saturday, August 1

07:55 - Report of a bear breaking into a Verdi residence through a kitchen window. Fish and Wildlife was notified.

10:38 - Property check requested at Fournier Ranch along Highway 49.

10:52 - Burglary alarm at Loyalton City Hall. The building was found secure.

11:53 - Report of a bear damaging a fence in Loyalton. Fish and Wildlife was notified.

12:49 - Report of a vegetation fire in eastern Sierra County. The call was transferred to the Forest Service.

13:51 - Report of child abuse and threats in Downieville. A report was taken.

15:02 - Ambulance requested in the Lavezzola area. The patients declined care against medical advice.

16:04 - A found dog rabies tag was turned in at the Downieville Visitors Center.

20:05 - Report of a bear repeatedly entering Cottonwood Creek Campground and taking an unattended pet. A deputy was unable to locate the bear and reminded campers to secure trash and belongings. Fish and Wildlife was notified and planned to contact the campground host.

20:41 - Report of a possibly aggressive man threatening a neighbor on Longhorn Drive. A deputy determined no crime had occurred and advised the caller about the restraining order process.

21:28 - Report of a possible mental health issue involving an incident in San Bernardino County.

Sunday, August 2

07:59 - Citizen assisted in Downieville.

08:49 - Information documented in Downieville.

10:38 - Information provided to the Sheriff’s Office from northbound Highway 395.

13:29 - Information requested about business hours.

14:51 - Report of smoke from the Elephant Fire near Chilcoot.

16:15 - Report of smoke seen from Bordertown. It was determined to be from the Elephant Fire.

19:04 - Report of an SOS activation in the Sierraville area after a motorcyclist crashed. The rider was not injured. A deputy and Forest Service personnel helped retrieve the motorcycle and assisted the rider in reaching Highway 89.

19:52 - Report of threats in Loyalton. A deputy responded and took a report.
